In the Woods Again, Again

In the Woods Again, Again was Concept o4’s first immersive creation where we utilized dance, music, and immersive art to create a unique audience experience viewed in 360 Degrees.

During the course of the one-hour performance, audience members had an intimate viewing of the dancers and the work as they dove into the darkness and expression of the piece. In the Woods Again, Again was created after a time of extreme personal loss. I not only had lost emotional stability; I was also bouncing from home to home, looking for a new shelter to call safe after the violent aftermath and physical abuse I experienced from a former partner. I felt the only way out of this despair was to be able to communicate and physicalize the journey I had been on through the art mediums I feel at home with.

The work was presented at Little Boxes Theater and sold out its run entirely.

I’ve been asked to recreate the work in other spaces, but the creation felt intrinsically tied to this period of my life, in this space, and with this community. While it is not a work I would remount, it is something I am incredibly proud of creating and I am forever indebted to my collaborators for their support and work to make this happen.
